HISTORY AND MISSION

Whiz Kids began in 1990, convening pastors and business people throughout the Denver
Metro area to begin a process of partnering suburban churches in urban outreach. A year later, this partnership led to a focus on one-on-one tutoring with elementary-age children. The result was a program called "Wise Guys," with three locations and 60 kids.

The name was changed to Whiz Kids Tutoring and today, Whiz Kids is a non-profit organization with over 35 sites that have the capacity to reach over 800 elementary-age kids. Whiz Kids has expanded our tutoring to middle schools with Whiz Kids2. Our commitment, like our program,
is experiencing strength and growth.
