PROGRAM DIRECTOR - JOB DESCRIPTION

The Program Director works closely with the Executive Director to ensure the mission and vision of Whiz Kids is fulfilled.  The Program Director also works closely with staff to provide leadership and support in the implementation of the Whiz Kids Program. This position is full-time, 40 hours per week.

  • Provide direction, support, and project management of tasks and events

    • Fall Event

    • Tips for Tutors

    • Spring Event

    • Other events as determined

    • Assisting ED in fundraising campaigns such as Spring Fundraiser and Year End Giving Campaign
       

  • Implement – Monthly site reports, quarterly check-ins etc. with Field Directors

  • Facilitate Staff Meetings

  • Assist with training (tutors, site leaders) through managing task forces, email blasts, schedules, and assisting staff where needed

  • Troubleshoot site issues and volunteer concerns

  • Create and manage pre and post assessments

  • Go to for tech trouble shooting, building issues, supplies, etc.

  •  Database management

  • Create communication pieces

    • Coordinator Weekly

    • Club Leader Weekly

    • Newsletters/Blast Communication (add stories)
       

  • Oversee all areas of the WK Program (ie. Recruiting, tutor trainings, club, etc.)

  • Oversee 1-2 sites

  • Other duties as assigned

FIELD DIRECTOR JOB POSITIONS
 

Reports To:  Executive Director

Salary Range:  20 hours per week- $24,000-$27,000 (2 positions available)

The Field Director position works part-time (20 hours/week). This includes attending the weekly staff meeting and holding an additional office day/week. The Field Director’s main responsibility is ensuring that the Whiz Kids Program is administered with fidelity at each of the sites he/she oversees. The position requires flexibility, strong relational and organizational skills and a high level of initiative. Field Directors must be able to communicate effectively and work just as well in a team as independently. Some of the Field Director’s work takes place in the late afternoons and/or evening and on weekends. 

One position oversees sites in the northwest (Arvada, Westminster, Broomfield) areas of the city.

One position oversees sites in the northeast (NE Denver/N Aurora/Commerce City) areas of the city.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  1. BUILD/MAINTAIN RELATIONSHIPS

    • With host sites – Give quarterly updates

    • With partnering schools/churches – Give quarterly updates

    • With leadership teams at each site – Caring for and appreciating them as well as providing help and support when needed

    • Weekly communication/check-ins with Site Coordinators
       

  2. TUTORING SITES

    • Support and maintain healthy tutoring sites

      • Average of 12 matches with goal of 15

    • Visit each assigned site at least once per month or more as needed

    • Serve as a sub for your Coordinators/Club Leaders when needed

    • Fill the Coordinator or Club Leader role until you can find a volunteer to fill this role
       

  3. VOLUNTEER RELATIONS

    • Develop and maintain relationships with the Coordinators, Club Leaders, School Liaisons and Tutors to maintain strength and quality of the overall program

    • Encourage tutors at sites
       

  4. RECRUITING

    • Communicate with churches to schedule recruiting dates

    • Attend recruiting and follow up with interested tutors

    • Secure Coordinators, Club Leaders, and Liaison Teachers for your sites as needed

    • Potential new partnerships with schools and churches in your area

  5. TRAINING

    • Conduct new tutor Orientation & Training

    • Assist with Club Leader and Coordinator meetings/trainings

    • Track training completion for each volunteer at your sites
       

  6. ADMINISTRATIVE WORK

    • Participate and help prepare for volunteer meetings and special events

    • Database maintenance and office responsibilities

    • Submit monthly site reports

    • Administer evaluations

    • Serve on various task forces, assist with various tasks as needed

  7. FUNDRAISING

    • Promote and participate in organizational wide fundraising efforts
