DUTIES OF THE COORDINATOR - PART 1
  • Contact and confirm returning tutors

  • Welcome new tutors

  • Connect with the School Liaison

  • Review your Role and Responsibilities – page 11 of Coordinator manual

  • Discuss with School Liaison who will send the link to the online permission slips

  • Plan and facilitate Tutor Team Meeting

DUTIES OF THE COORDINATOR - PART 2
  • Inventory your site using the inventory sheet in Coordinator’s Manual/Binder

  • Kindles – are aging and may not be updated (encourage tutors to bring their own device to use for reading or math)

  • Communicate with Field Director what supplies you need (name tags, lanyards, games, markers, etc.)

  • Plan for Star of the Week – there are 4 previously used Star of the Week ideas that you can pick from or create your own

  • Make a plan for driving partners if appropriate at your site

DATABASE UPDATES
  • Access to roster – Use your primary email and password is whizkids2018

  • Email tutors from database

  • Send permission slips for new and returning tutors

  • Build community by sending weekly communication (emails or texts)

PROTOCOL FOR COVID & EMERGENCIES
  • Masks – Use the guidelines of your site for mask wearing. Encourage unvaccinated people to wear a mask.

  • Snacks – Think about individual servings for snacks

  • Provide hand sanitizer and wipes

  • Ask tutors/students to pick ONE game each night instead of using several games in one session

  • Consider individual supplies for each tutoring pair

  • Review your site’s emergency/medical procedures (Incident report sheet is in Coordinator’s manual)

TUTOR ONLY MEETINGS IN SEPTEMBER
ACADEMIC TRAINING
  • Field Director, Coordinator and School Liaison will help facilitate this meeting

  • Purpose – create community and share more specific academic training

  • Invite both new and returning tutors

  • Training is on reading and math, tailored to different age groups

SITE TEAM MEETING
  • Coordinator is in charge of meeting

  • Purpose – create community and review site’s procedures

  • Invite both new and returning tutors

  • Ask tutors to update personal info on rosters (return to Field Director)

  • Confirm with School Liaison your school’s specific calendar for year

  • Review calendar for the year and special events with tutors

PRAYER
